Sanur, one of the tourist villages in Bali, is located approximately 10 km east of Denpasar city center. Sanur is a coastal village that has white sandy beaches, the waves are not that big.
At Sanur Beach, you can enjoy the view of the sunrise. Mount Agung, which is in the eastern part of the island of Bali, is the highest mountain in Bali, visible majestically from Sanur Beach. Views of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan Islands can also be seen from Sanur Beach.
Sanur Beach is also the departure point for several fast boats that serve crossings to Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan for both local residents and foreign tourists. The Sanur fast boat port is located in the northern part of the Sanur area, on Matahari Terbit Beach. Sanur, the first village in Bali which was developed as a tourist area during the era of the first Indonesian president, Ir. Soekarno founded the Bali Beach hotel, now called Inna Grand Bali Beach, which has 10 floors, was built in the 1960s and was the most luxurious hotel at that time.
Now, Sanur has developed as one of the main tourist destinations in Bali which offers various tourist facilities such as hotels from five stars to backpacker class, homestays, villas, and budget hotels at low prices. In contrast to Kuta, Legian, or Seminyak, tourists who want to enjoy tranquility will choose hotels in Ubud or Sanur as a place to stay.

Sanur administratively belongs to the Denpasar Municipality area. It is approximately 15 km from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Denpasar Airport and takes around 30 minutes in smooth traffic conditions.
